Poker positions
To energize the game and ensure everyone has an equal chance of winning, two players must invest a portion of their stack before even seeing their cards. These two players are the Small Blind and the Big Blind. The position of each player is then determined starting from the Big Blind. To the right of the Big Blind is the Small Blind. Further to the right is the Button (Dealer), followed by the Cutoff, the Hijack, and finally the Under the Gun (UTG).
These positions apply when there are 6 players at the table. When there are more than 6 players (e.g., 9 players), additional positions will be added between the Hijack and Under the Gun (UTG).
To the right of the high hack we will therefore have the low jack, then UTG+2, then UTG+1 and finally UTG.
Each round, the Big Blind position rotates clockwise around the table. Thus, the player in the Under the Gun (UTG) position becomes the Big Blind, and the current Big Blind moves to the Small Blind position.
